I don’t look Italian, but my father is full Italian, with his mother, “Ellie” having come straight off the boat from Italy years ago. My love for food starts with Italian cooking the way my grandmother made it, and subsequently the way my mother makes it. The dishes are peasant foods compared to what we consider Italian food here in the States. Simple pure ingredients with meat usually served as side. As a result of loving to eat, I now love to cook.
