From Camp Muir we cross that snow path across the Cowlitz Glacier to the Cathedral Gap and climb up that rock trail. Nice. They call the area in front of the gap the bowling alley because rocks fall and can take out climbers like bowling pins.

My 3rd time on Mt Rainier and conditions could not have been better. Summitting was literally a walk in the park. This YouTube video, shot by my guides at RMI Mountaineering accurately depicts the route we took and its conditions in August 2010. Enjoy. Mt Rianier Conditions August 2010
